When this shot came across our desks, it was instantly elevated to epic status. When everything comes together so perfectly…light, snow, composition, and style, it normally leads to what we call in the game a ‘hammer’. Now hammers can be as rare as hens teeth, so when you get one, it’s treated accordingly…normally ending as a cover if shot to fit those dimensions…or as a double page spread, as this ended up running in our May 09 issue. For sure both Greg Roebuck (senior photographer) and Nick Hyne busted their balls to get to this spot, then prepare that mega takeoff, but you know what, I bet they were stoked they did!
